What's Next for Mamo: Plans in the Works

Boosted USDC, a stocks account called gmamo and new ways to earn trading fees: what Mamo has announced and what is still open.

A quick note before we start: everything on this page is announced, drafted or in testing. Nothing here has a release date yet. Plans can change. We only list what Mamo or its founder has said or published.

Boosted USDC (announced)

On 17 August 2026, Brian Armstrong shared Coinbase's new boosted USDC rewards [1]. A day later Mamo quoted that post: "Did someone say Boosted USDC? Coming soon" [2]. There is no date and no rate yet. Since the Moonwell incident in late August, withdrawals from the existing Mamo USDC Account depend on how much USDC is available at Moonwell. Mamo has been posting updates about it [3].

gmamo and stock accounts (draft and open code)

On 24 August 2026, Base announced that Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are live on Base, backed 1:1 by shares held in a regulated trust [4]. The same day, Luke Youngblood shared gmamo, a "draft design of a new @mamo account type". The post asked: "would this be interesting to you?" [5]. The draft shows an auto-rebalancing account with tokenized shares of NVIDIA, Apple, Alphabet and Meta [5].

On 11 September, code for such stock accounts appeared as an open proposal in Mamo's GitHub. It describes a 1% yearly management fee that would be collected for "the weekly drop", the pot that pays MAMO depositors [6]. That would link money managed by Mamo to MAMO rewards, which today come from trading fees alone [7]. The proposal is not merged, not reviewed and not live, so every detail can still change [6].

More trading fees from Aerodrome (in testing)

The MAMO Account pays out Mamo's trading fees from Aerodrome pools, so more fees mean more to share [7]. On 10 September, Mamo wrote that it is testing new ways to collect more trading fees and turn them into bigger weekly rewards, with a public live-test page [8]. Luke Youngblood added that work on upgrading Mamo's market-making has already started and that a bigger upgrade is being tested live [9]. On 18 September, Mamo moved part of its fee-collecting funds into new strategies for the coming week [10]. Results are not in yet. Twelve MAMO pools are already part of the account. The docs say earning potential grows as new pairs are added [7].

At home in the Base and Coinbase world

Mamo runs on Base and offers an account for cbBTC, which is Coinbase's Bitcoin, held 1:1 in Coinbase custody [11]. Its first prototype won the Coinbase Developer Platform hackathon in February 2025 [12]. Coinbase added MAMO to its listing roadmap on 4 August 2025 [13]. Today CoinGecko lists Coinbase Exchange, Aerodrome and Uniswap among the places where MAMO trades [14]. By 4 September 2026, Mamo had paid more than 638,000 USD in rewards to MAMO depositors [15].

What could slow things down

Coinbase is building in the same area. In June 2026 it launched Coinbase Advisor, an in-app investment adviser. It also launched Coinbase for Agents, which lets users run their own agents in a sub-account [16]. In August it offered boosted USDC rewards on its own platform [1]. Mamo's path so far is to build on Coinbase's rails (Base, cbBTC, tokenized stocks) while funds stay in the user's own vault [17].

Two more points belong here. Lunar Labs builds Mamo and also contributes to Moonwell [18][19], so Moonwell's troubles touch Mamo's reputation and its USDC account [3]. Mamo's blog has been quiet since 17 February 2026, while X carries the updates [20].

We will update this page when announcements turn into live features. Until then, we stick to what the builders have published, without forecasts.
